Austrian National Champs

Today the GS went really well, i scored my best ever GS result which was a 53. I had a good first run but made a few too many mistakes on the second. Considering my recent performances and results i will settle for today's result. Some of the best skiers in the world raced so it was good to be able to watch them and compete against them.

We have a day off tomorrow and then off to the AUT National Championships SG.

Slovenia not so great

Hi,
Slovenia did not end up as well as planned. I crashed on the first day on the 1st run and fell over on the 2nd day on the second run. Pretty annoyed with the result to be honest but i have a few more gs races coming up at the Austrian National Champs

Slovenia coming up.

Hi everybody,

Sorry for the lack of posting, we have been travelling from place to place training and we have had absolutely no internet anywhere. Training has been good, skied Slalom today which i crashed a couple of times but the runs i finished were pretty decent. Just trying to find some solid and consistent form before the British Champs in Meribel. Tomorrow i have a day off and we travel to Skofja Loka for 2 GS races then over to Innerkrems for 2 more GS races. I am really looking forward to racing GS after the dissapointment in China so it should be good to get back. Hand is good and i took my cast off a few days back, just skiing around with a support incase i crash again and hit it. Apart from that, there is nothing much to report.

Take Care

Update

Hi everybody,

Chinese internet has really slowed me down with the blogging and i'm sorry. I'm having a great time out here and it really has been an experience to remember. The SG and DH races actually went pretty well and i made results in both which i am happy about. Sadly i crashed out of my best event yesterday which is really gutting. Tomorrow i am racing Slalom and then heading over to Harbin before our 5am flight back to Beijing then the UK. I trained SL today which was cool just to get into the rhythm and get the feet moving again.

It really is different out here, the way of life and the people are so cool. Everybody is so friendly and helpful and there is even a 500 man army here to ensure the safety haha. That is not a joke. There is an all you can eat buffet full of chinese food which i love and an immense spa. Not really what we are used to when we are on the road so its a nice change. And everything is so cheap. We bought a huge cake made fresh with icing and the trimmings for £3. I don't know if any of the races so far have been on european tv, but the second run of tomorrow's Slalom is being broadcasted at 10.30 UK time or 11.30 European time on Eurosport 2. Keep your eyes open.

Tomorrow night we will probably grab some drinks in Harbin and visit the ice festival which is supposed to be incredible then back to Europe for a few days and my theory then over to Austria again.

See ya

China Today

Hi everybody,
I'm leaving to China today and thought i'd let you all know how things have been over in the UK. Not been doing too much to be honest, just resting and seeing friends etc. Went into London a couple of times to pick up some clothes for the trip and stayed at Nick's for a night. I leave the house at 4 today although my flight is at 9 haha. We need to be there by 6, don't really know why. I'm really excited and can't wait to get there. I think i have my first DH training run on Thursday so i will try my best to let you know what is going on depending on the internet situation.

Take care

Good Results

Hi everybody,

I raced in Slovenia over the last couple of days which actually went really well. I scored a couple of 50's not sure exactly what yet which is my best result in slalom by a long way. The hand seems to be holding up well and was not causing many problems. I have a day off tomorrow then a days training before i travel to the UK to get my VISA sorted out for China, so it seems like some form has arrived at the right time. Yesterday was not amazing because i was still trying to find my rythm in a slalom course to be honest but today i had a much better first run and finally put two runs together. It was pouring of rain today and really warm so the organizers salted the course to give everybody the best possible opportunity which ended up being a great move.

I just lost at poker and am gonna watch some t.v

Slalom was not such a great idea

Hi guys,

As some of you will know I was in Morzine last week skiing with my sponsor Purple Goat. I had a great time blasting about the portes du soleil for a week not worrying about races etc. It was great meeting new people and staying in the Purple Goat chalets which were both incredible so I have to say a big thankyou to Stephanie and all of the staff for their fantastic hospitality.

The people i met last week will probably know a bit more about me now than most and know that i was planning on racing two Slalom's over the last 2 days in Liechenstein. Well that proved to be not such a great idea. I skied 10 gates of the first slalom before the impact of the gates started hurting my hand and then fell. I decided not to race today trying to look at the bigger picture ie. the rest of the season and China. I think it was a wise decision as it i not the easiest task skiing slalom when you lack confidence and are slightly nervous about injury. I am training Super G tomorrow in Abtenau near Salzburg then we have a day off before some training then maybe some races depending on how things feel. I'm still really psyched to ski and can't wait to get back to 100% again.

I will let you know how things go over the next couple of days.
